Chinese New Year à la Mary Quant

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in beauty, fashion

In a few hard blinks, it’ll be Chinese New Year!! This year, it’s gonna be different because I’m going to be in New Zealand during CNY!

It’s sort of a triple celebration of Chinese New Year, my sister’s marriage and me being able to study in AUT, Auckland for 2 years! Although, I’m still not quite sure if the last one should be considered a celebration.. I kinda miss everyone in Malaysia AND Singapore already..

。・゚゚・(>д<)・゚゚・。 (It’ll be so funny if people actually cry like this..)

Anyway, let’s not get all soppy, shall we? CNY is a happy festival. Celebrate and wish for happiness, prosperity and longevity! We’re celebrating CNY in the most different manner this year, so why not blog about it? Right? RIGHT! I recently got this Mary Quant Lipstick that I want to wear during CNY (And make my mum and sister wear them too). Everyone’s gonna think I’m a walking firecracker.

On the 2nd day of CNY, it’ll be my sister’s wedding. I’d be wearing this retro looking dress. The lipstick matches the dress perfectly. If you disagree with me, I don’t know which planet you come from.
if you’re wondering.. Yes, I took the photos in the kitchen. I like the kitchen very much and everyone associates me and my gaming habits in the kitchen, so it HAS to be in the kitchen since it was the last day in Malaysia for me.

My sister’s wedding will be on the 2nd day of CNY, and guess whose doing her makeup? *Points at myself* YES, she’s gonna be my Barbie Bride-to-be.

My mum’s wearing this beautiful red cheong sam for the wedding and I convinced her to use the same Mary Quant lipstick. What do you know? It pairs perfectly.

Red hot Amber! Tsk. Triple, baby! You could tie your hair into a high ponytail and make the lips stand out more. Makes you look less messy anyway.
The temperature in New Zealand now is about.. 15-20°C, so I’m gonna put this french coat on. So diva right? *flips hair*

The one I have is R-01 (SCINTILLATION). It’s not blood red but slightly lighter which is good for Chinese New Year. Imagine the situation(s)..

You visit your relatives and friends’ houses, yum cha and eat some snacks (And get some ang paos), if you have blood red lips, you would have to keep reapplying to make sure it looks even and still.. Blood red. This Mary Quant lipstick kinda just stays.. While you can just be yourself and make conversations with family and friends without constantly worrying about reapplying your lipstick.

Next blog entry will be on our little family trip to Rotorua OR Laneway Festival. PROMISE!

Shopping on Christmas Day

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in fashion

Merry Christmas! Mum and I decided to go shopping today.. We were aiming to buy our evening gowns for a wedding.

The 2nd thing I was looking for was a biker jacket. I always wanted one.. But there was no reason to wear one in Malaysia because the weather is too hot and I don’t ride bikes. This was the initial jacket I wanted to get from Forever 21.. But the cutting wasn’t fabulous..

This on the other hand had a fabulous cutting. But I’d rather not have the studs. Mum said the collar was jutting out too.. So I gotta wait around and look for a nicer one when I go shopping again this Friday.

Meanwhile, we were looking for our dresses. I had a dress in mind but I couldn’t really find the one I wanted. So I thought of this as option 2. But the material was so thin, I could see the bra pad from the mirror.. Christ. Gross.

So I settled for this one. I bought the salmon pink instead of the red though. The red was too matured for me.. I’m still a kiddo, and I intend to stay a kiddo. Yeah? RM95 for a pretty dress like that. Quite cheap eh? (:
The corset part was done nicely too, so wearing it without a bra wasn’t a problem. It’s better to wear it without a bra actually.

Woes & New Knapsack

I’m getting worried that I might not be getting an offer letter from AUT University. My college counselor isn’t exactly the most helpful person in the world, not to mention how rude she was to my mum.. She isn’t giving me any assurance, nor is she telling me anything at all. Oh, and she doesn’t even reply emails. I wouldn’t even bother with calls, she’d probably wouldn’t pick up. I’m dead worried.

All week, I’ve been playing Broken Sword. I just finished the Shadow of The Templars, and starting on The Smoking Mirror. Asides that, I’ve been watching Modern Family. Jon forced me, in a good way, since I’m starting to enjoy it. When I was downloading the first season, he kept asking me, ‘finished downloading?’, ‘done??’, ‘how long more?’. When I started to watch, he kept asking if it was funny and if I liked it. My ego isn’t allowing me to let him know, ‘YES, IT’S FUNNY, I LOVE IT.’ It’s okay, he’ll never know because he doesn’t read my blog.

I did a lil’ impromptu shoot today with my new knapsack. Ooh, on the 2nd photo, my Samsung S4 stands out, doesn’t it? Love it to bits. Anyway, I got the bag a day before I left for Singapore with my mum. She spotted it from afar and we both loved it so much, we purchased it instantly. It was on 70% sale too! We got it really cheap, RM40! Funniest part, we got it from Momoe, a place we never thought of shopping in.
I love it. And I love my mum. she’s the best.

Here’s a photo of us being us.
Don’t panic, the car was parked!
