As we only arrived about noon, we weren’t ready for a full tour, so after checking into Bau Tong Lodge, we wandered around by ourselves.

My mum drove me and my sister down to Penang on Friday afternoon and it rained slightly.

On Saturday morning, we left for Chiang Mai in the morning with Thai Airways! The flight was about 1 hour and 55 minutes to Bangkok and another 55 minutes to Chiang Mai.

The sunrise was beautiful. In this picture, my camera focused on the dirt on the window. Damn.

After checking into the lodge, we were quite starved and stumbled across this coffee shop. I tell you, there are more spas than restaurants. OMG.

Came across really funky sunglasses too!

Look at the roads of Chiang Mai, ain’t that clean!

The scary part of Thailand is their ultra complicated wires. OMG.

Passing by market after market, we saw maggots for sale! YUM.. Of course I didn’t try it. It’s not my thing!

Insect buffet. Eek!

They’re really smart to use the fruit wrapper to make fake flowers. (: But I wonder if people really buy them..

I passed by this shop that sells accessories. Their sales girls all wore huge flowers on their hair, gypsy headbands, layered necklaces and boy, they look like showgirls. LOL

Now, if it happens in Malaysia, I’ll be so happy.

The amount of things each store sells is about that much. D:

They even have 3D animal hats! WOW. (I sound so shallow in knowledge ._.)

More people own a motorbike than a car. Their motorbikes are really cool! Some are really retro, some are really.. Pink. And Cute. And the pink ones are ridden by men. D:

The long ‘river’ in the middle of the restaurants is still due to constructions though.

The actual place is much darker.. I brighten it up so you could see whats there.

My favourite. It’s slightly sour because of the grenadine. But surprisingly, I didn’t taste any pineapple and banana..

Crispy Romaine Lettuce, toasted croutons, beef bacon, anchovies, shaved parmesan, and soft poached egg with caesar dressing.
Lovely poached egg, oooh! The parmesan that melts in your mouth and beef bacons. Am I making you drool?

Red Chilli, Coriander, Onion Jam and Nahm jim

Scallops with green olive tapenade, chive creme, and potato galette
The. Scallops. Are. So. Fresh. And. So. Juicy.. I only had half.. and I want more! It’s just so lovely!

Prawns (RM28)
Marinated in Morrocan Spices, dipping sauce
Eat it without shelling the prawns! It taste so beautiful.. If you shell them, you don’t get to taste the spices anymore. Trust me on this!

Pan-fried Cod (RM65)
With crushed new potatoes, pistachio aioli, and fennel and caper salad
I always loved cod fish.. Juicy fresh cod fish.. Yum.

Braised Oxtail Fettuccine, Parmesan, Broccoli and Basil (RM34 for individual, RM112 for family)
For me, I’d preffer my spaghetti softer.. The oxtail is full of fats. Eek! Not my kind of meal.

Beef Sirloin (RM70)
Char-grilled Australian black angus sirloin steak with hand-cut chips. cafe de paris butter and salad
Don’t order a well done steak.. Order medium or rare. It really makes a difference. Juicer and more tender. Every mouth made me want another piece. It’s that good. RM70 worth of paradise.

Fried Dried Flat Rice Noodle (RM31)
They have a few local items as well like this one! Of course, they are fine dining local food!

Fungi (RM27 for 12″)
Mushrooms, anchovies, olives, and dried oregano
Mushrooms are nice. Do you like mushrooms? I love mushrooms.. This pizza is just awesome!

Souvlaki (RM29 for 12″)
Shredded lamb, onion, sweet chilli sauce, tomato tabouleh and garlic sauce
The weird part is that they added chilli sauce to make it a little Arabian-ish. Not working for me.. It reminds me of the Ramli burgers..

The Bombe (RM23)
Mango sorbet, white chocolate parfait, Italian meringue, and pine nuts
It seemed to be a weird combination, but a good one.

Chocolate Tarte (RM25)
Like chewing gum tart! Okay, not literally, but its quite chewy, but not too much that makes you tired of eating it. To balance it off, they added a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Usually we would visit and pray to my grandpa in the morning before lunch.. This time we went in the afternoon.

The sun rays here are so.. SO bright!

Night falls and we had our reunion dinner. We had steamboat as usual! No pictures, I wanted to enjoy the food…. But I did take pretty pictures of the fireworks we played. We also accidentally lit up an unknown firework and we didn’t stand far away enough nor did we covered our ears.. The cylinder-shaped firework bombed with such a loud sound, our ears were still ringing 2 hours later. ):

Wednesday

We left the house at about 3pm and reached at 7-8pm-ish. After packing and smelling Penang’s hot air for a couple of minutes, we left house to shop at Gurney Plaza and have supper. I had my worst kuay tiao soup. Ever. It tasted like the instant noodles. OMG. What a bad way to start my CNY holiday. Even my brother had a bad char hor fun.

Thursday

HAHA. I am not in school! Waahahhahahaha. I woke up at 9am and you guys had to wake up at 6! Muahahaha. We went to Air Itam to have our breakfast and walk around. We had our favouriteduck kuay chap. Yum. After breakfast we walked down the road while looking at the pretty things people were selling. Oh my, I love the preparations of Chinese New Year! But I hate the weather there. ):

For lunch, we had indian food at Passions of Kerala. It’s not normal to eat indian food in Penang for me.. Seriously.

2 choices of rice, tomato rice/white rice. Vegetable dishes change daily. It’s like eating rice with only vegetables. I could live with this as it is actually quite yummy.

Went to Air Itam to eat kuay chap for breakfast. Whee. Then had gelato. GELATO in the morning. Haha. So weird.

I find this interesting.. I want to try it one day.

I had an interview with 3 MPYO players. Yes, Malaysia’s Phiharmonic Youth Ochestra players. The 3 that I interviewed were Chan Su Yin (Ooh. Like my sister’s name. ) , Mohd Mustaqim and Nicolas Lum. They were very friendly people.

I was bored. I played with reflections.

And half an hour later, we finally reached KLCC. Went around and into Gucci to see-see. Haha. Can I afford? No. ):

I met this German boy named Devan who was with Niexter for a week too. This 2 interview in one week thing suits the Career Week..

So after we bought the ticket, we went home and relaxed a while.

Meanwhile.. I PLUCKED RAMBUTANS! Hehehe. I didn’t know there was one here . Cause during CNY, no rambutans.. The rambutans so sweet. x_x

And guess what this stupid girl do .. She bathed before she pluck rambutans. Really stupid girl. Had to bath again after that. -_-

Went back to Penang Hill about 4.30pm. Ahahah.

Also ordered white steamed chicken. They use old chickens. The skin are not soft soft that breaks up in your mouth. This one is somehow crunchy and chewy.

After breakfast, went home and relaxed a while, then we’re off to Padang Besar at the border of Thailand. No.. I didn’t go to Thailand.. Thanks to some fella who don’t wanna do my passport for me..

South has more hills and trees. Up north, it’s all paddy fields.

Took about 2 hours to reach there.. Pretty long.. /: Anyway, had lunch at one of the mini restaurants.

Guess what? They still use the bottles! Hehhh.

Went out for breakfast as usual. (:

This time, I didn’t eat kuay tiao th’ng. I ate kuay chap.
