Italian Fine Dine @ Il Lido, KL

Posted on 6 CommentsPosted in Uncategorised

Last night, I went to Il Lido for dinner with my mum. Sad that Christopher or Beng couldn’t come. Anyway, going to Il Lido is like going to some top secret agent building under cover as a restaurant. Hehe. It’s on the first floor, so you gotta take the lift. 2nd floor would be their outdoor bar. Customised chairs and comfy sofas with a bar that has almost everything. You could even watch the KL tower if you are deeply interested. 😀 Sad thing about this is that it’s open air. So when it rains.. Not many can go up there. Anyway, back to the main floor – 1st floor. It’s dark with only the tables lit. It’s cold, so you’d better remember to bring along a jacket. It has steps, so watch your step! (: If you don’t see any steps, the waiters would notify you. Don’t you worry. (: Speaking of waiters, they all are so well trained. They are alert, they are observant and attends to you as soon as possible. Ooh, best part of the interior of the restaurant is that they provide a special place to put your belongings/handbags so you don’t have to share your chair with them. 😀

They have 2 private rooms. This is the bigger one. Don’t be fooled by the plastic chairs. It’s one of the most comfortable chairs on Earth. I am dead serious. They ain’t cheap!

The lamp above the private room table. I could stare at it all day long. It’s really quite pretty.

The waiters dress in brown and they are really friendly and attentive people! (:

Focaccia Bread. A little too oily, and too oily to even dip into the olive oil and vinegar. And it takes ages to reach the vinegar.

Crab Salad with Avocado and Bisque Jelly (RM39)
From degustation menu.

Pan Fried Goose Liver with Saba Wine Must and Sweet Potatoe Galette (RM59)
This is from the degustation menu. I *heart* foies gras.

Rigatoni with Lamb Ragout, Fava Beans and Pecorino Cheese (RM39)
Lots of cheese. Bite size lamb which is chewable unlike the lamb shanks. Love-a-ly. Love-a-ly.  *MWAH (I think I’m trying too hard to sound like an Italian.)

Tagliolini with Lobster and Spicy ‘Calabria’ Salami (RM59)
They say that the spicy-ness comes only from the special salami they imported but the salami slices would not be visible for some odd reason. The lobster’s nice and so is the tagliolini. This is from the degustation menu so it looks a little smaller in size.

Gorgonzola Cheese and Radicchio Risotto with Hazlenut Sauce (RM39)
I’m not really a fan of risotto but this is OK. They have another champagne risotto with LOTS of truffle. That is quite good as well I heard.

Sardinian Roasted Suckling Pig with Plum Sauce (RM85)
Another from the degustation menu. It would be 3 slices if ala carte. You could hear so clearly how crispy it is when you cut it. YUM.

Duck Leg Confit with Truffle Salad and Caramelized Shallots (RM75)
A little too dry for my liking. Like a lamb shank. Not something I’d want to order. ):

Ricotta Cheese Cake with Orange and Pistacchio (RM29)
What? What’s that on top? GOLD? Yeah. They are real gold flakes. I didn’t really enjoy this though. Imagine a cheesecake which is almost like cream. x10 the dry-ness. And add in the orange and pistacchio pieces in it.

Degustation Menu (RM180)

Iranian Food @ Taktaz, South City, Puchong

Oh yay. (: I went to Nuffnang office last Friday to pick up my Sloggi winnings. I won the grand prize! 😀 Link

Nuffnang office looks so comfy. (With the most striking orange coloured walls!) You even have to take your shoes off first. Cool eh?

Okay, back to important topic. (: IRANIAN FOOD! First, I wanna tell you guys this, it’s healthy food. Really. This is my second time here. First time was back in 2008. Link Of course, with the most horrible pictures. ): I improved a lot kays..

The owner and her daughter at the new Iranian ‘lounge’. This is where most people enjoy their shisha comfortably.

Him, making pizza.

Since they renovated, they have really decorated the place well.

Shisha (RM8)

Iranian Traditional Mint Tea (RM5.90)

The right way to drink the tea (If you don’t wanna be embarrassed. Kidding!)

  1. Pour yourself a cup of tea.
  2. Pop a sugar cube into your mouth. (Yes. Just do it.)
  3. Sip the tea. (It’s hot, of course.)

That’s the way. (:

Barbican Non-Alcoholic Beers. (RM3.50)
This one is peach. They have other flavours like strawberry, apple, pineapple, malt, and black (real beer taste, made from pure barley)

Lamb and Mushroom Pizza (Before going into the oven) (M: RM12, L: RM17)
Just looking at it, we all know how much cheese that is.

Shirazi Salad (Popular Item) (RM3.50)
Diced tomato, cucumber, onion and special home made sauce

Mix Kebab (M: RM16.90 L: RM19.90)
I find the lamb kebab a little funny. I prefer the chicken one much more. Especially with a lil’ lime on it. See the butter? You could spread it on your kebab, or like most people, on their rice. I tried it both. Both taste fabulous.

Lamb Koobide Kebab (M: RM11.90 L: RM14.90)
The same lamb kebab as the one in the Mix Kebab.

Barley Soup (RM5)
This was the best dish of them all. It tastes a little like porridge, but a little savory and sour. It’s really really nice. You have to try this! It’s a must!

The New Panasonic DMC-TZ10

Posted on 13 CommentsPosted in Uncategorised

The New TZ10

This fourth generation TZ model features a high-quality LEICA DC VARIO ELMAR 25mm ultra-wide-angle lens with a 12x optical zoom. The new model has a 14.5-megapixel CCD and shoots with up to 12.1-megapixel resolution.

TZ10 would be an excellent travel companion because of a wide shooting range and hybrid recording capability of high quality photo and movie.

The best part is that TZ10 further enhances its value by adding a built-in GPS unit*3 into the camera! The location data where the photo was taken is automatically embedded with its latitude and longitude in the EXIF data. Plus, the TZ10 also shows the name of the town, area and landmarks using an internal database to give users real-time information of the place when taking photos to add fun of photo shooting during travel.

The information of landmark exceeds 500,000, covering 73 countries! That’s more than enough to cover the places you’re travelling to! The photos and movies with their location data are automatically sorted in the virtual folder alphabetically in the camera allowing quick access.

If this wasn’t enough, the internal clock of the camera is automatically adjusted to the local time of the place where the camera is, so you do not have to set the clock manually whether you go abroad or come back home.

For newbies, the TZ10’s iA (intelligent Auto) mode is the perfect camera for every user to be able to take beautiful shots effortlessly.

TZ10 features manual control for advanced expressive photo shooting. It has A(Aperture Priority) / S(Shutter Speed Priority) / M(Manual Exposure) modes for advanced users to enjoy the creative shots depending on the subject or the scene by controlling the shutter speed and aperture. Each of these modes and iA mode can be quickly set by the mode dial on the top of the camera unit.

The minimum focus distance is 30 mm! It’s less stressful than using a heavy dslr to take macro shots especially without flash, indoors!

Besides, the new TZ10 is much lighter compared to the older model, TZ7 by 5%! As I said before, TZ10 is the perfect companion when travelling.

Comparing the TZ10 and TZ7..
