Last Sunday night’s dinner was BOMB. Previously, Trishna had the worst reputation due to old issues. Now, it is completely the opposite. It’s the liveliest place especially for families and couples. The atmostphere is a little romantic, warm and happy. They have a vase of flowers on the table with a candle light. Isn’t that perfect for a date to an Indian restaurant? Trishna has a bar and a live band during the night but it doesn’t affect the families much. You know why? Because the owner does not want to loose the family-atmosphere. Although there is a bar, there is no drunk crowd that are arrogant and makes a scene (which spoils everybody’s mood). The best part is that while having your lovely dinner, the owner would accompany you once in a while. No, it isn’t creepy.. But omg, he’s the funniest fella I know. He can make a joke any time!

I’m a little in a rushing mood now cause I gotta study for my exams (3 more days, woohoo!) After that, I wouldn’t be around for a week next week (Holidays) . But do keep visiting me! I’d appreciate the visits and ad clicks so much. (: I promise big updates by end of next week. (:

Noorani Kebab
An inner circle of darker minced mutton surrounded by white minced chicken rolled in chopped parsley. This is really yummy and isn’t an ordinary kebab we all know.

For a vegetable dish, this is really good.. (With cottage cheese!)

It’s like having mashed potato naan.. Quite extraordinary, I must say.

Special Sizzler Mix Grill (RM38)
It really sizzles when it reaches your table. It has a selection of chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, kebabs, fish, prawns and lamb.

Paneer Butter Masala (RM14)

They have 2 cool taps! Gotta check it out yourself! It isn’t connected to anything, but water flows.. Wonder how. It’s so obvious actually. (:

The best dessert, my whole family loved it.

The other desserts you could have. I ain’t an expert for Indian dessert but I have sources telling me this place has the best sweets-man.

Casual Lunch @ Golden Phoenix, Equatorial Hotel

Mum, god-mum and I had casual lunch @ Golden Phoenix together with Carol. They still serve their yee sang (Until tomorrow only), so we had an opportunity to have it today. We were more focused on th La-Mian and the dim sum though.

To be honest, he isn’t great. The noodles he did wasn’t equal.. I guess he’s not experienced enough.

Kungfu Sheok Mian (S: RM25++ M: RM45++ L: RM50++)
Although you can see some are thin, some are thick, it’s a delicious noodle. It’s wok-fried noodles with prawns and squid.

Braised La Mian Soup with Smoked Duck Breast (With pork and chicken stock) (RM18++)
Supposedly it is spinach la mian, but we didn’t want the spinach one. Of all the 4 la mians we had, this was the best. The second was the syeok mian. (: Mainly because it’s clear soup and there isn’t too much things to make of when you have a la mian. This was just simple and healthy-feeling.

Braised La Mian in crab meat broth (RM17++)
with tobiko, thick gravy.

Wok fried La Mian with egg plants and minced meat (S: RM25++ M: RM45++ L: RM50++)
Its quite good.. Just not very there.

Fine dine @ High Tide, Menara Taipan

It’s so hot these days.. Anyway, right after my tuition, mum brought me to High Tide, Menara Taipan. Oh my goodness, it’s so sleek yet so fragile. It has French windows, big huge windows replacing the walls. As it was a hot afternoon, it was so bright, I felt like I was in another country. Do you know how costly it is? But of course, the best quality must come with the BEST prices. Before we move on to the pictures, I’m going to be honest, I am not a seafood fan, so I’m only going to briefly describe how it taste and what my mum thinks of it.

Fresh Dutch Sealand Flat Oysters (6 for RM128/ 12 for RM250)
For starters, we had oysters and fresh oysters isn’t my thing. Cooked ones either. But each time I see oysters, I’d take one just to try it out.. I must say, this is the best oyster I’ve ever eaten. (I still quite dislike it, but eating it the french way was quite alright with me)

They have mini buns for you instead of the ordinary big fat bread that lies in the middle of the table all times. They serve it to each customer, asking which bun you’d like. This one is a multigrain bun.

Ocean Trout Tartar (RM58)
With basil leaves and wasabi sorbet in the middle.
The ocean trout was marinated with grain mustard, chopped dill, chives, olive oil and a drop of sesame.

Scottish Scallops Platter (RM88)
You have the Pan-fried scallop served on a creamy puree of Jerusalem artichoke on the left, then the carpaccio of scallops sliced thinly and placed over sweet beetroot cut in small cubes and lastly is a grilled scallop placed over sautéed oyster mushrooms and a mustard mouselline.
I liked the pan-fried scallop the best. The puree of Jerusalem artichoke compliments it so well! As for the carpaccio, my mum loves it so much. The last scallop was only yummy because of the juicy scallop meat.

Monkfish (RM128)
The pan-fried fish is topped with a crust of herbs like tarragon, basil and parsley and served with cooked spinach leaves and a stunning oyster béarnaise. The spinach leaves is gorgeous, the oyster béarnaise, not quite.. For the fish, oh my goodness, it’s so beautiful. Firm and juicy.. It’s not like eating a codfish. It’s different. By the way, go google monkfish if you don’t know how it looks like. Remember the movie, Nemo? There was one time when Marley and Dory went deep down to the sea where no light is seen? There they were attacked by this ‘cute’ fish with a light bulb? YES! That one!

White Halibut (RM118)
Oven baked to a light golden hue, the fish is placed on a fragrant langoustine broth with root vegetables like potatoes and topped with lobster ravioli.
The ravioli is good, but we only had one.. /:

Seafood Platter served with 2 creamy dips (RM248 per person, minimum two persons)

I was being all classy, I didn’t want to use my hands.. In the end I did, 3 of them just stared at me while I do it. PRESSURE! Haha

Callebaut Chocolate (RM38)

Ghana Dark Chocolate Ganache
Served in a glass topped with a foamy honey chocolate espuma and a sprinkle of coffee granite. It’s another rich dessert but to die for.

White Chocolate Cremeux
with pistachio, cottage cheese and raspberry

Sao Thome Dark Chocolate Brownie
A thin sliver of vanilla panna cotta (hardly could taste it though..) and chopped lime-pear compote. Yummyy.. I can already feel the extra calories..

Cottage Cheese Sorbet
It’s already starting to melt when I took the picture, you could imagine when it reach our table.. But it’s real good stuff, if only I could have more… (:

The New TZ10

This fourth generation TZ model features a high-quality LEICA DC VARIO ELMAR 25mm ultra-wide-angle lens with a 12x optical zoom. The new model has a 14.5-megapixel CCD and shoots with up to 12.1-megapixel resolution.

TZ10 would be an excellent travel companion because of a wide shooting range and hybrid recording capability of high quality photo and movie.

The best part is that TZ10 further enhances its value by adding a built-in GPS unit*3 into the camera! The location data where the photo was taken is automatically embedded with its latitude and longitude in the EXIF data. Plus, the TZ10 also shows the name of the town, area and landmarks using an internal database to give users real-time information of the place when taking photos to add fun of photo shooting during travel.

The information of landmark exceeds 500,000, covering 73 countries! That’s more than enough to cover the places you’re travelling to! The photos and movies with their location data are automatically sorted in the virtual folder alphabetically in the camera allowing quick access.

If this wasn’t enough, the internal clock of the camera is automatically adjusted to the local time of the place where the camera is, so you do not have to set the clock manually whether you go abroad or come back home.

For newbies, the TZ10’s iA (intelligent Auto) mode is the perfect camera for every user to be able to take beautiful shots effortlessly.

TZ10 features manual control for advanced expressive photo shooting. It has A(Aperture Priority) / S(Shutter Speed Priority) / M(Manual Exposure) modes for advanced users to enjoy the creative shots depending on the subject or the scene by controlling the shutter speed and aperture. Each of these modes and iA mode can be quickly set by the mode dial on the top of the camera unit.

The minimum focus distance is 30 mm! It’s less stressful than using a heavy dslr to take macro shots especially without flash, indoors!

Besides, the new TZ10 is much lighter compared to the older model, TZ7 by 5%! As I said before, TZ10 is the perfect companion when travelling.
