Pre-CNY dinner @ Zuan Yuan, One World Hotel
Jan 17th
Da Vinci was great but not really.. I wasn’t allowed to snap any photos, how sad. ): Anyway, dinner was filling. Chinese food are always great.
Assorted Tempura Mushroom Yee Sang (RM60 for half portion and RM120 for full portion)
This is one different kind of yee sang. To be honest, although I miss the salmon and the jelly fish, this is actually great!! This is also a dish for Vegetarians. I know, you guys think omg, vegetarian food, I bet it sucks. Try this before you judge.
Deep-fried Spring Roll with Prawn Paste (RM10 per portion)
Hard to eat it cause its quite huge.. But really crispy and yummy. (:
Deep-fried Homemade Nian Gao with Sweet Potato (Comes with promotion and all..)
Really nice nian gao. I had like, 3. I didn’t know it was sweet potato either! It’s much sweeter than the normal ones I had.
Sauteed Celery with Scallops and Caramelised Walnuts
Fresh scallops.. Checked. Crunchy Walnuts.. Checked. Beautiful taste.. Checked.
Wok fried butter prawns with pumpkin cubes, shredded curry leaves, chili padi and salad
This is a dish to admire and accidentally eating too many prawns! The yam carving (Pagoda) looked so pretty meanwhile the butter prawns taste fabulous. I’m going to put on another 500 grams because of this ! ):
Steam dried oyster and fatt choi in tofu money bag with broccoli
Not my kind of dish.. My mother didn’t really fancy it either. Hopefully they improved the dish when Chinese New Year arrives.
Lap mei fun with smoked duck, salted duck with bone and turkey liver sausage. dried prawns, mushrooms and yam cubes
Another dish I dislike. Every Chinese New Year they have this. Either this or the noodles. I’d prefer the noodles. For this particular one is a little bit dry, almost like steamed rice. As for the salted duck.. It’s really salty..
Homemade Kwei Ling Gao herbal jelly pudding with ginseng and red dates
Eat it because it helps to clear blemishes!
A day out with family
Nov 28th
Hello! Ain’t it a long time since I last wrote about food? Well today I’m writing 3! Wooo! My mum, aunt, uncle and me went to Din Tai Fung @ Gardens. Click! It’s the food review me and my mum went to.
Xiao Long Pao
Ha Gao
La Mian
Drunken Chicken
This is the best dish. It is cold of course, the skin has a springing texture and every bite, you can taste the fragrance of Chinese rice wine (Shao Xin Wine).
After that, my uncle went off with his friends to have more dim sum, mum, my aunt and I went walking around looking for baby clothes for Neville! (: My little nephew. We didn’t buy any shirts for him. But my aunt bought his mother a nail clipper that has a small torchlight with it. Haha! Now she has no reason to accidentally cut Neville’s finger or what’s so ever.
After a while of walking, we went to Eu Yan Sang’s restaurant.. Zun Kitchenette. It’s healthy food, all the herbal stuff. Not your ordinary bitter food, their food are actually pretty good! Well, the things we ordered were fantastic. Delicious. Trust me.
Yuzhu Condonopsis Herbal Chicken Soup (RM10)
Promotes ‘Qi’ and improves energy
Organic Charcoal Noodles with Minced Meat Sauce (RM12++)
It has huge wolfberries, springy prawns, fat mushrooms, spring onions, and minced pork.
Althought with a weird name (Charcoal Noodles), this dish, many people wouldn’t order because the picture looks very unattractive. We ordered anyway, cause it’s weird. Yes, we try weird food. No harm done right? Anyways, we didn’t regret, this was a WOW in every slurp. The wolfberries they sell here are so huge and so sweet. It’s not small that are tasteless. This is really big!! Look at those red berries in the picture!
We also had seafood porridge (RM8). This dish, I couldn’t stop saying WAH after every spoonful. I just love it. I was reluctant at first because its seafood.. But oh my goodness, the squids, the prawns and fish.. So fabulous! When I was taking the picture, I could already imagine the beautiful taste.
Rawrrr. Reminds me of my sister. She don’t look like it, but I saw this creature for the first time on her MSN display picture.
For dinner, the 3 girls went to Sanbanto right after watching Little Nyonya (Oh my, I love this show.). Me and my mum’s second time there, so we decided to try other things.
Pork Bolognese with Home-made Pappardelle (RM17)
When my uncle say this, he said it looked like a messed up lasagna. Haha! Quite true, but this is nice.. A little too sweet for me but its bolognese. They taste like this. To be honest, I love it.
Cheese Baked Meatballs (RM10 for 5 pieces)
This is the second time I’m having this. The sauce is creamy.. Really really recommended. Go try it for yourself and find out how good this is.
BBQ Pork Ribs (RM38)
Good stuff. It’s suppose to come with 2 corns but we don’t eat corn. (:
Anyway, the meat is really soft and tender. You don’t need to chew on it for ages.. The sauce is too sweet though. There’s so much meat, we 3 girls almost couldn’t finish it.
Went to Curve for a walk.. Ain’t it pretty? Curve always has pretty decorations.

Halal Chinese Food @ China Treasures, Sime Darby Convention Centre
Nov 14th
I woke up reluctantly this morning.. (It was already 9.15am..) I went to the SS2 market with my mum.. Yadda yadda, skip the long morning, we ended up in Sime Darby Convention Centre for lunch. Another food review, yay! I’ve been here once and before they renovated, the restaurant was much smaller. Malays who enjoy chinese food would love to come here because it’s halal!
Looks small? This is only half of it. The other side are private rooms that fits 6-15 people.
Meet Bubbly. Okay, I made up the name.. Just look at its eyes.. They’re so.. Bubbly. Ha. Ha.
Bubbly: Rawr!! You come near, I bite!
I would never have guessed those were abalones. I’m serious.
Huge lobsters. Oh my.
Baked Prawns with Cheese & Tomato Sauce (S: RM48, M: RM72, L: RM96)
The cheese, the cheese!! I loved the prawn and cheese.
Steamed Pea-Sprout Dumpling with Shrimps (RM9)
Yum yum, dumpling with pea-sprouts, meat, fish and prawns
Pan-Fried Spinach Bun (RM7)
I’d rather have a mantao. Personal favourite.
Deep-Fried Yam Wrapped With Prawn Rolls (RM8)
*crisp crisp. Crispy on the outside, soft inside. Yum..
Sautéed Lamb Cubes with Sliced Garlic (S: RM38, M: RM57, L: RM76)
Tender lamb cubes, crunchy onions and sliced garlic that taste so unique (Not kidding, I love the way the cook the garlic).
Braised Fish Paste Beancurd with Oyster Sauce (S: RM32, M: RM45, L: RM60)
Fried Cod Fish Cubes with Dried Chilli and Cashew Nuts (S: RM42, M: RM63, L:RM84)
The aroma.. To be honest, this dish is unexplainable. I sat here for 5 minutes trying to explain.. The fish was sweet and soft, in contrast the cashew nut was crunchy. It’s a beautiful dish.
Stir Fried La Mian with Crabmeat & Egg White Sauce (S: RM22, M: RM33, L: RM44)
I don’t quite like this one because of the crab meat.. But it does taste quite good. Almost something like sar ho fun.
La Mian with Minced Chicken & Mushroom in Spicy Sauce (RM12)
Szechuan style! I love the minced chicken and the szechuan vegetable. The la mian taste awesome too! Have you ever tried la mian? Pulled noodles (literally translated). It’s delicious, I’m telling you. Taste so different from wanton mee, or any mee in fact.
Chilled Mango Cream with Pomelo and Sago (RM7)
Little tadpoles! Today’s pomelo was slightly bitter though.. Overall, its good..
Chilled Avocado Pudding (RM6)
Soya Pudding with avocado sauce. Yum!
Durian pudding
