More Than Beer @ Craft Brews
Jan 9th
What do you think of beer? I personally do not like beer. I’m a champagne person. Anyway, mum and I went to Craft Brews @ Mutiara Damansara. It’s opposite of Tesco to be exact. The place is quite big with many glass doors. Really comfy and abstract place with nice music. Apparently, Craft Brews is in Malaysia for the very first time.
Black and white, very zen.
Meanwhile, these are very earthly/beach-like.
The bar. Ain’t the pipes cool? The colour made it stand out even more.
A diagram on how beer is made is drawn on one side of the wall.
“Snake Dog” India Pale Ale (RM18)
“Old Scratch” Amber Lager (RM18)
“Doggie Style” Classic Pale Ale (RM18)
Monster Green Lager & English Ale (1/2 Pint: RM17 , 1 Pint: RM29, 3.5 , litre tower: RM199)
Deep-fried Eggplant chips (RM12)
Recommended to go with a beer. But I hate eggplant! I had one tiny bit but it has the most eggplant-taste ever.
Bacon-wrapped Classic Roast Pork Skewers (RM16)
Note: Only available from 5pm onwards
These are lovely, There are total of 2 skewers, which is perfect with onion, capsicum and the roast pork.
Lemon Grass Butter Dory Fillet (RM26)
Served with capers and lemongrass infused in white wine and cream sauce reduction with wedges and coleslaw
Lovely main course. The lemon grass taste is obvious though the dory fillet is quite salty without the cream sauce. As for the wedges, I find them sweet. Apparently, these are US potatoes!
Honey Mustard Back Ribs and Tex-Mex Hickory BBQ Back Ribs (Combined) (RM35)
I love the honey mustard back ribs! Basically it’s cause the honey mustard sauce is sour as for the tex-mex, it’s too sweet for my liking.
Caribbean Spiced Chicken (RM18)
The sweetness of the peanut sauce overwhelmed the chicken meat. Lovely sandwich but I wouldn’t be able to finish the whole portion. O_O
Moist Chocolate Brownie (RM16)
Nice and warm with bits of pecan nuts. Yummy.
Chocolate Filled Banana Fritters (RM16)
Recommended to share, as this is quite boring after a while. But banana and chocolate always, ALWAYS go together. No? (:
Those are what they use to make the beer. One of them think the hops look like rabbit food. Haha!
Thai lunch @ E San, Ara Damansara
Sep 19th
I went to E San with my mum and brother. E San is at Jalan PJU 1A/3, TAIPAN 2, Ara Damansara. The food is actually quite good.
The miang kam also quite nice..

Miang Kam

Thai Laksa
This spicy laksa suits those who can’t really take spicy-ness.

E San Crispy Rice
So crispy!! You should try this signature dish. It made me feel healthier. Haha.

Fried Egg Salad
I like this dish cause of the simplicity. The sauce is a little sour as well. Suits my taste.

Otak-Otak in Fresh Coconut
I don’t like otak-otak.. /: My brother and mum liked it though.

Isn’t this pretty? It’s made out of a tomato.

Tom Yam soup.
Looks so mild, yet so sour it made me cringe my nose

Salted grilled Haruan (Fish)
OMG. Simply heaven. Sweet meat that is just as good on its own and with one of the 3 sauces given.

RAWR!!

Was being random.. But it’s pretty.. No?

Fried kang kung
Nice.. Although it has a plain taste.

Larb Khai (Minced chicken salad)
THIS IS SO GOOD. You must go try! Must! Seriously! OMG OMG. This is fantastic. Not for people who dislike sour stuff though..

Khanom Bua Lawy
Taste like those ‘tang yuan’. But this isn’t flour, it’s pumpkin! And for a person like me wo hates pumpkin, actually like this dessert.

Huge fake flower in my house. LOL

This bunch of flowers are like.. one year old already.. It was from 2 mini bouquets of roses. (:

Dim Sum Sum.
Aug 4th
SUNDAY
Suppose to have indian food, instead we had dim sum. Stupid PR. He forgot about it. What excuse! Anyway, we went to this new dim sum place called Jin Xuan Hong Kong @ DJ near Atria. The food was not bad. Great thing about this place is that it’s open from 7am till 11.30pm! First dim sum restaurant I know that opens all day. This place is spacious and quite cooling. Brightly lit as well. The food? Not bad. Some are different, some are tasteless. Yes, I really mean the word tasteless – Not salty enough. For the 3 of us, we only spent RM40+. Tell me, isn’t this worth going if you’re a dim sum fan? Overall, I give a 7/10. *cheers!
-1 because it wasn’t my day to eat dim sum.
-1 because of the tasteless food
-1 because they ran out of lots of food items.

A mini display for everyone to see.

Fried Sticky Rice
Mmmm… This is nice. The rice is like the lo-mai-kai rice, it has chinese sausage, egg, dried shrimps. Just lovely.

Shrimp Rice Roll
See the bulging orange-ish in the middle? That’s the prawn.

It’s actually not bad. Quite tasty

Green Mussels Cheese-mai
We ordered this cause it sounded weird. Haha

It tasted okay, the cheese was creamy, it had milk in it as well. Very strong taste… (So not for me.)

Pao Pao..! Char Siew Pao

Can you see the fluffy-ness? It’s fantabulous!

I took this from the display.. I really do not know what this is. It looks cute though.

Deep fried turnip cake
This was the tasteless dish. Probably just a mistake.. If not, it would taste fabulous

This taste like fish balls.

Deep fried sesame balls

It’s a pao, with fried bottom (the sesame side) and has pork inside. With vinegar and ginger at the side to dip. AWESOME..

Egg tarts!

There is a layer of jelly on top. Nice. The pastry is just right as well.
