Hi, I’m back with a food review. Sort of, I find my posts more like a laundry list instead. Today’s about Saisaki , the sister restaurant of both Shoguns in One Utama and Sunway Pyramid . One thing about Saisaki, they put really funny/weird/out of this world names for their food. Out of this world as in, okay. I don’t even know how to explain . Examples are like , they named their cincau dessert – Taste and Feel. They named one of their dishes, Taste Until Laugh . And you get the picture… Right? (:

Yum yum.. The amazing selection of makis.

Apparently, the Japanese love yam .. This maki has yam instead of rice.

Each type of maki are so unique. Amazing, how they designed them .

I was greeddyyy, took a plate of different makis. My real intention was to photograph them actually. ;P

The woman on the right pan fries the meat for you. While, on the left, is the ice kacang . LOL

Their sashimi selection’s the best part. Their salmon, OH MY GOD . YOU MUST HAVE THEM!

They also serve strawberry maki. Odd , but you should try it out! We didn’t have the stomach to try it sadly. /: Do give me the feedbacks on strawberry maki if you tried it.

Last Friday I was at Urban, Istana Hotel for dinner menu review(during lunch! how odd? oh well, mum didn’t want to sit through the traffic at night) . It was such a rainy day ! I kept having this thinking that the heaven wants to remind us about the tsunami that happened .. Everything will be okay, Japan.

1 good reason to go to Urban for dinner : Everything’s nett priced so you can skip the rough calculations before ordering.

Walnut bread on the left, Puri on the right and chicken pate in the middle.
The puri was so so good, especially when hot. Yummehhh.

Appetizers (MYR45 nett)

Smoked Duck Breast with Jasmine Tea Fragrance, Cured Foie Gras and Rocket Salad

Sake Cured Salmon served with Avocado Mash, Creme Fraiche and Tomato Basil Sorbet

Foie Gras served with Exotic Fruit Chutney, Birgrade Sauce and Golden Mango Sorbet
For some reason, the fruit chutney kind of overwhelmed the foie gras.

Bay Scallops served with Creamy Tagliatelle Leek Fondue and Chervil Nage

Mum and I went to Empire Shopping Center for the very first time for lunch today.

Minted Calamansi Soda (RM8.5)

It’s actually pretty addictive. But there’s so many things in the drink, there isn’t much liquid in it.

Serai Tasting Platter (RM30)
6 sticks of satay (Beef, lamb or chicken), fried squid and make-it-yourself bruschetta.

Deep Fried Crispy Brinjal with Serai Spice (Regular: RM13 , Large: RM21)
For someone like me, who hates brinjal (Yes, seriously), this is actually good. Like, REALLY good. Not much of the mushy, slimy gross taste of the brinjal either!

Mango Chicken (Regular: RM20 , Large: RM30)
It tasted and looked like fish. And soaking it in the sauce makes it pretty spicy. Be careful there.

Crispy Skinned Salmon (RM35)
Served with potato cakes, sautéed asparagus spears and crisp bread with roasted capsicum dip.

Nasi Kerabu (RM20)
Rice served with ayam percik, salted egg, ulam, solok lada and keropok ikan.
They use the real morning glory flowers to colour the rice too!

Sang Har Yin Yong (RM19)
Kuey teow and crispy mee hoon served in egg broth, complemented with fresh water prawns and vegetables.

Steamed fish in lime sauce (Market Price)
This is really really good. Although, it’s really spicy due to the chilli. It’s a very Thai dish. Sour and Spicy.

Pavlova (One of their selected cakes of the day)
Home baked. You can taste the lovee. (:

Hey everyone. New Year’s COMING! Like, in a few more hours ! Excitement! As for me, high school’s so over, college is starting. My orientation day is on the 3, 4, and 5th. Nervous! ): Anyway, i had my first yee sang for CNY and my last yee sang for 2010 at Eastin Hotel. Can’t wait for CNY. The steamboats, the relatives. AND THE TRYING NEW CAMERA. Okay, i should really stop rambling. (:

By the way, before anyone starts their 2011, watch the latest remix by DJ Earworm, United State of Pop 2010. If you don’t know him, or never watched/heard any of his videos.. WATCH IT! I still prefer his 2009 one though, but it’s awesome. Just watch it. (:

Miss Coco Mocha (RM9.90) Unbelievably rich and chocolatey!

Pesto Pasta with chicken slices and pine nuts (Rm21.90) With slice of garlic bread, and a creamy sauce made with garlic, basil, parsley and parmesan cheese. Panfried chicken breast on top.

Jumbo Sausage Hot Dog (RM16.90)

Banana Crepe (RM15.90) with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and strawberries. Big and fat!

I’m back! For a while, just for a while to tell you about this new gorgeous place at Lorong Datuk Sulaiman 1, TTDI.

Crumbed Scallops (RM18.90 for 7 pieces)
Fresh juicy sweet breaded pan fried scallops accompanied with mayo.

Smoked Salmon Bruschetta (RM21 for 6 pieces)
Topped with capers pesto, some pine nuts and a lil lemon. It’s so refreshing and opens your appetite hell a lot!

Sauteed Mushroom Bruschetta (RM16.90 for 6 pieces)
Lovely button and oyster mushrooms, sprinkled with some parmesan and herbs.

Vin’s Chicken Nachos (RM26.90)
Shredded chicken topped with crisp nachos, salsa and cheese. Yummy.

Chicken Tikki Masala (RM18)
In between of the Indian style and the English.

Mediterranean Seafood Pasta (RM27)
Calamari, prawns. Peppers, chili flakes with a hint of white wine. It’s a simple spicy pasta with a great taste.

Spicy Tuna Pizza (RM27)
One of the best selling items. Every bite gives you full satisfaction.

Spicy Lamb Bolognaise (RM26.90)
Spicy bolognaise sauce with minced lamb, fresh herbs and shitake mushrooms. Ooh, I forgot to mention that THEIR PORTIONS ARE RELATIVELY HUGE.

Grilled Salmon (RM35)
Served with spinach ragout.

Steamed treacle sponge cake pudding (RM15)
I am quite sure you’ve never heard of treacle. Try it out yourself, and you might just like it. (:

Seoul Good Promotion, One World Hotel

HELLO! It’s a fly day and I didn’t go to school. (youdidn’tneedtoknowthat, butohwell.) Anyway, I had dinner at Cinnamon, One World Hotel today, with my lovely mum. They’re having a Seoul Good Promotion aka KOREAN FOOD, BABEH! It’s part of a buffet, so everyone could have what they feel like having. Especially with big families.. You know, the grandparents want authentic traditional food, parents want classy food, kids want junkie food.. Etc. And, you get to taste the Korean food! This is a short and simple post, but hope its worth it.

I saw it before I went into Cinnamon, and ate dinner.. And I saw it again after dinner. I’d like to think it’s been there for the whole night. It seems more magical. Haha.

They played the drums and all. It was loud, but it was good. Full of energy.
