Burger Junkyard, The Strand, Kota Damansara
2A new burger joint just opened in KD !

They have different kinds of seats, so take your pick ! I like the round table the most cause it’s super unique and DIY ! The table is actually that thing where you roll big ropes/wire like the empty ones you see in Publika . As for the chairs, they’re wine boxes .
This place is so fun, everywhere you turn, you see something new .
Spot the mice ! Or rather .. Rats . HUGE PLUSH RATS . Their job is to be the order numbers . It’s so cute ._.
Gorgeous graffiti drawn on the walls .
Really makes you think about the word ‘Junkyard’, doesn’t it ? You feelin’ it ? Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !
Moving on .. Let’s start off with 2 of their meatless burgers .
Grilled Ratatouille (RM12.9)
It may not be the best looking burger, but it is pretty yummy ! Well, at least to me till my mum told me it consisted of a lot of aubergine/brinjal .. (゚ペ)
But it was really interesting . It didn’t really taste like how aubergine normally taste like – that slimy weird gooey icky taste … I’m cringing so hard while describing aubergine .
But I really like how all the flavours go together with the aubergine though, the capsicum, tomato concasse, onions and the zuchinni . AND THE CHEESE .
Pineapple Fungi (RM13.9)
BIG Portobello mushroom burger with pineapple, onions, tomatoes cheese, and aioli . The mushroom is really really big .. But if you leave it there for about a minute or two , the bun gets a lil’ soggy . Not that I really mind it . It just has more juice in the burger . Yum . But it gets boring if you keep biting on the parts where there’s no pineapple . When you get lucky and hit the pineapple , ahHhH .. Refreshed .
Buffalo Soldier (RM14.9)
This is my favourite chicken burger here among the ones we had .
Char-grilled chicken thigh burger with celery sticks, tomato, flavoured sour cream topped with steamed cheddar and buffalo hot sauce .
Well, it’s not HOT hot like how hot cili padi is but it’s hot enough to excite your taste buds . You just have to try it to feel it !

Brooklyn Burger (RM15.9)
Just by adding an extra ringgit, you can order this . You have a choice of beef or chicken , topped with smoked turkey ham, fried onion, grilled pineapple, tomato, onions, steamed cheese, aioli and beef bacon (You can opt to take it out and replace with more turkey ham like in the picture above) .
It’s a bit of a mouthful for me . I needed to flatten it a lil or else it wouldn’t fit my mouth . LOL . Overall , I think it’s just too much frustration to take this on . σ_σ
Last thing, TRY THEIR TOMATO SALSA , IT’S SOOOO GOOD .. And they promised to have better quality fries coming in soon , ones that still has its skin on . :3 Let’s hope it taste better than the ones at Wendys

Steam King @ Kota Damansara
10First off, Steam King Seafood Restaurant looks clean, feels cooling and comfy. Secondly, it’s always packed! Thirdly, the waiters gives recommendations which is really good! They won’t make you order too much either to prevent from throwing away food.
Look at the amount of fishes.. At the bottom left especially. The fish don’t even have much space to move! Can you imagine how many fish they sold in a day?
Steamed Clams with garlic and glass noodles
A little too salty without rice of course. And look at the amount of garlic! Wow. Garlic lovers’ heaven.
Salted egg with pork ribs with chilli and curry leaves
Despite it is a seafood restaurant, this was the best dish I had. OMG. It’s so yummy!!
Butterhead Scallop
Lovely.
Steamed Soon Hock fish with light soy sauce
The fish was really good.. I recommend this rather than the other types of steaming. Seriously. If you’re adventurous, then try the other steams like sambal, preserved radish and black bean steam. (:
Rawr.
Wet butter milk tiger prawns
Yum. As always, I wish the sauce was on the prawn meat.. Not the shell. Happens in all restaurants. I never get to taste the sauce with the meat. But overall, the prawns was great. (:
Curry Tofu with egg, prawn, sotong, dried squid
It’s said it’s their signature dish, but I don’t really fancy it. Everything is nice, except the curry. Which is the main thing..
Double mushroom and broccoli in abalone sauce (RM32)
Very common dish though. But it’s not bad.

Anyway, last Sunday afternoon, mum and I went to Wok Cafe at 26, PJU5/21, Kota Damansara. They serve authentic Nyona food and local food as well. Their staff are friendly and efficient. The walls of the restaurant are covered with antiques and old-fashioned wooden doors and walls! Its like back in the Shi Huang Ti time!

So I was testing.. Experimenting. Haha. How does this look? O_o

Char Kuay Teow (RM7.00)
With big prawns, squid, chinese sausage, omelette and tau ge.
Best dish I had for lunch. Not your typical char kuay teow at coffeshops. This one is premium. (:

Lorbak (RM7.00)
Crispy pork rolls marinated with 5-Chinese spices in beancurd sheets
Real huge pork rolls!

Jiu Hoo Char Rm 8.00(s) Rm 11.00(m) Rm 17.00(l)
Turnips with carrots, cabbage, mshrooms & dried cuttlefish served with Chinese lettuce and sambal

Put some jiu hoo char in the chinese lettuce, with and put some sambal on it, then nom nom nom.. Eat it up!

Penang Assam Laksa (RM6.00)
Spicy yet my all time favourite – Assam Laksa.

Gulai Tumis Fish Rm 14.00(s) Rm 20.00(m) Rm 26.00(l)
Very spicy indeed! Yes very yummy.
Warning: Once you try this, you might not be able to stop yourself from having more.

Chee Cheong Fun
Typical Penang style chee cheong fun. it isn’t like KL chee cheong fun that has yong tau foo.

Assam Big Prawns Rm 20.00(s) Rm 25.00(m) Rm 35.00(l)
Pan fried tamarind caramelized prawns served with cucumber & sambal belacan

Pork Cincalok Rm 12.00(s) Rm 17.00(m) Rm 22.00(l)
Recommended. Beautifully made, chewy..

Perut Ikan Rm 8.00(s) Rm 11.00(m) Rm 17.00(l)
Tangy & spicy vegetable goulash with local fish tripe & roe
A quiet taste.. I quite like the roe, but the fish tripe is a little too chewy.

Sago Mango (RM3.50)
One word – YUM.

Sago Nangka (RM3.50)

David, the chef.

Taa for now. (:
