Dreamworks Experience, Macau #Day 1 (Part 2)

Posted on Leave a commentPosted in Photography, Travel

Don’t you think it’s so beautiful? Everywhere you look in Sheraton Macau is just beauty. They pay good attention to details! The ceiling.. The flooring, pillars..

Meeting the characters of Dreamworks. I just had to censor my face cause I looked pretty horrible here.

I really pity the guy in the dragon costume . LOL

My mum on the other hand, wants to chop the dragon off.

I really like their security guard uniforms. It’s super bright yellow, cheers anyone up instantly!

Merchandise counter !

After meeting Kungfu Panda, Shrek and etc, we wen’t off on a sightseeing trip with a really rude tour guide. Well she was so rude till it started to get amusing.
Tour Guide: OK, everyone here? Hi hi, nice to meet chu, let’s go. *walks off*
She didn’t even take a look at us when she greeted us, she was just looking at her paper.

We got on to a Venetian bus.

First stop was A-Ma Temple.

Miss Tour Guide told us one of the good things the Portuguese left them was the floor tiling.

There were so many people visiting the temple. Overcrowded, I tell you.

Next stop was Ruins of St. Pauls.

It was scorching hot, everyone stayed by the left side of the stairs under the shade. It was pretty funny.

The amount of tourists in Macau is unbelievable. There’s really, really, really a lot of tourists here!

Council meeting! Hahah, just kidding, it’s just our tour guide explaining about the ruins.

Meanwhile, mum and I…

Yeah, camwhoring away.

Their mosaic pavement tiling’s so cool right??

I’m pretty sure you know where this is.. Macau Tower ! 😀

I got a lil scared. Just a lil … How can staring down like this not make my knees weak? :X

After that we visited a garden nearby Sheraton hotel. Cow-Sheep war! 😛

I liked how they used wooden cartoon-like animals and buildings instead of realistic plastic animals. It looks so much cooler like this, what do you think? They had duckies, windmils, chicken and cows. A pretty neat farm. 😀

And a real dog… That’s really real.

We had a Portuguese dinner at the Millitary Club. Pretty interesting place, but doesn’t exactly serve you great food.

On the painting above, the English and Mandarin subtitles don’t even tally . LOL.

I liked their cabbage-inspired plates. They look like they were carved from jade from far.

This was probably one of the nice items on the menu.

AND THIS ONE. The name is so complicated, I swear. But it’s so darn good. Well, I didn’t like the cotton-candy-like sugar on top (It looks cool though), I loved the muesli thingi with custard something.. Oh god, I didn’t know what I was eating, it was just so darn delicious.

Bali #Day 2

MORNING !! Well, it’s 9am, time to go explore Bali ! ^^

I love small details of our room number . Bali is known for their wood crafting too. Ain’t it lovely?

Managed to snap this beauty before heading out to watch the Barong dance.

We arrived at about 9.30am .. A lot of people are buying tickets to the dance too !

It was quite a long wait for the show to start, we waited for a few more audience to come in .

That’s Barong . Isn’t it just adorable ? Haha .

One of the servants dancing . This is when the devil starts to possess her . She gets all confused and angry all of the sudden.

Although tourists understood no shit of what they said , we all understood the dance . (Besides, they gave us leaflets on the synopsis of the dance) I know a few words they said, but the music overpowered their voices, I couldn’t really make out the sentences.

After the dance, we went to look at the Kuta Palace (If I’m not wrong)

And then we went to the market nearby to shop !

I love their Police Post . Absolutely striking .

For lunch, we went to Naughty Nuri’s Warung for some pork ribs !

I wanted to order their Chili Con Carne too .. Apparently that’s one of the popular dishes  But it finished already ): Boohoo .

Mum’s definitely enjoying it .

We also ordered their fried rice . Heavenly. Never tasted such flavourful fried rice in a long long time . And it’s so simple. Rice, veggie and sliced chicken . :O

I bought a beautiful Karimba/Kalimba/Mbira . The soundbox is made of coconut with a piece on wood on top . The little girl who sold it to me said it’s a Karimba . But I’m google-ing it as I’m writing this .. It originated from Africa ? Errr .. Doesn’t matter, I bought it for 20,000 rupiah. Pft .

Her cute-ness and manja-ness can beat any salesman .

OH AND I FOUND ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL TREASURE . It moved so fast, I could only snap 1 photo of it .. Not very clear but STILL …

Next door was this shop which sells only Bob Marley merchandises. Anything Jamaican , you can find it here . Stickers, scarves, clothes, badges .. Posters … ._. And this isn’t the only one . So, Bob Marley fans, you know where to visit to get these items .

If I have someone to play congkak with everyday, I will get that . Oh god, it’s so beautiful.

Hey, here’s a random photo of a guy roasting Luwak Coffee.

This fake Crocs slippers have been with me for 5 years . Been to Thailand and New Zealand with me too . Best slippers to travel with .

Temple visiting after lunch . First stop – Tirta Empul !

This is the only temple that lends us a really nice sarong . And this cloth belt that comes with it . We donated a few bucks to them .

Bathe in this water and you shall be purified !!!! And clean .

Dinner time wasn’t very interesting .. We went to Dirty Duck Diner (Bebek Bengil) . Not very satisfying ..

Chinese New Year 2010, Part 1

Hey guys, I’ve been neglecting my blog due to Chinese New Year. I didn’t wanna blog uncomfortably so I waited till I got back from Penang. (: How are you guys? I hope you guys still read my blog!

We left the house at about 3pm and reached at 7-8pm-ish. After packing and smelling Penang’s hot air for a couple of minutes, we left house to shop at Gurney Plaza and have supper. I had my worst kuay tiao soup. Ever. It tasted like the instant noodles. OMG. What a bad way to start my CNY holiday. Even my brother had a bad char hor fun.

On the bridge to Penang Island.

Protecting it’s siblings from humans. So sweet. 😀

HAHA. I am not in school! Waahahhahahaha. I woke up at 9am and you guys had to wake up at 6! Muahahaha. We went to Air Itam to have our breakfast and walk around. We had our favouriteduck kuay chap. Yum. 😀 After breakfast we walked down the road while looking at the pretty things people were selling. Oh my, I love the preparations of Chinese New Year! But I hate the weather there. ):

Duck Kuay Chap

For lunch, we had indian food at Passions of Kerala. It’s not normal to eat indian food in Penang for me.. Seriously.

Vegetarian Set on Banana Leaf (RM5.50)
2 choices of rice, tomato rice/white rice. Vegetable dishes change daily. It’s like eating rice with only vegetables. I could live with this as it is actually quite yummy.

Deep Fried Ladyfingers (Small: RM3.50, Medium: RM6, Large: RM9)
Yummy tidbits.

Deep Fried Bitter Gourd (Small: RM3.50, Medium: RM6, Large: RM9)
Best of the deep fried tidbits.

Fried Sotong (Small: RM6, Medium: RM12, Large: RM18)
Not as great as the bitter gourd

Fried Fish (Bawal/Kembung/Pari) (RM4 a piece)
Quite ordinary to me, except that they give you a lime to squeeze on it first. ( I think it’s just me.)

Chicken Masala (Small: RM5, Medium: RM10, Large: RM15)

Crab Rasan (Medium: RM22)

The Restaurant Manager. Like model, right?

Outside Passions of Kerala had a few interesting wood carvings. I really really wonder how they could carve them.
